  1. Ichiro, the guy gets 200 hits like every year and can steal bases.

  2. ichiro for president

  3. Ichiro

  4. I'm a Met fan, but I still have to say Ichiro by a hair. He typically has a better on base percentage than Reyes, even though Reyes has demonstrated a little more power. They both have speed to spare, so that is kind of a wash.

However, since he has only been in the US for 8 years, people seem to forget that Ichiro is already 35, and is probably past his prime. Right this second, he might be a more valuable offensive player than Reyes. But Reyes is a full 10 years younger, and if I had to start a team today, I'd take Reyes.

Juan Pierre is a speedy little devil and I actually have him on my fantasy team for the steals, but come on.

  5. Jose Reyes does the most for you, he can't hit as well as Ichiro but will provide more power, more stolen bases and a lot more energy.  He beats Pierre in just about every offensive category and he doesn't gripe about playing time which affects the quality of Pierre's play.

  6. Ichiro is twice the player Reyes is. He hits better, he's a great runner, and is phenomenal in the field (something that u really cant say about Reyes) I would take Ichiro over Reyes any day of the week.

  7. It's Ichiro, a player guaranteed to hit 200 hits every year and steal so many bases is a very valuable thing to have in a lineup.

  8. Jose Reyes. that dude will hit 20+ homers have 30+ stolen bases about one hundred rbi's and a possibly get a .250 to .320 batting average a year. he is beast

  9. Jose Reyes.

This is obviously between him or Ichiro but I think Reyes wins by a significant margin.

    1. He is a switch hitter. That is a huge advantage to have in baseball because you always start out with the upper hand.

    2. He is fast than Ichiro. Ichiro is a great base stealer but Reyes is a faster player and he is a bigger nuisance on the base paths. I mean he stole 80 bags last year! Having him on base throws the pitcher way off.

    3. Reyes has way more power. He is slugging more than a 100 points higher and he has 3 times as many home runs as Ichiro. Nothing wrong with starting a game off 1-0 right?

  10. Ichiro because he can give you 200 hits a year and over a .330 averge a year

  11. You are getting alot of mixed answers. If I were to build a club today I  am sighning Reyes. The guy really is a one man team.He steals 70 bases a year.Hits about 15 homers, scores a 100 plus runs and still has about 70 rbis.He is still young unlike the other two players in your comparison who have no power numbers what so ever.Reyes still being young means his power will increase over the years.I can see him in the neaxt few years hitting 3rd in a line up hitting 25-30 homers, stealing 50,driving in 100 and scoring 100 runs.Ichiro and Pierre are past their development. You know what you will always get from them,50 steals and 100 runs period.

  12. ICHIRO

  13. If you're talking fantasy baseball, Reyes by far, then Ichiro then Pierre way down.

Reyes plays a position that has fewer stars while there are a ton of OFs available.

If you're talking real baseball, I'd still take Reyes for 1 major reason. Yes Ichiro has been great for so many years, but Reyes is very young. No GM in their right mind would take Ichiro over Reyes right now. If both were the same age, then you'd have an argument. The combination of Reyes having speed, power, hitting, defense and youth make him clearly the player to take today.

  14. Ichiro. He has been doing for the longest time and he has the numbers to prove that he is better.

EDIT: I'm not talking about this years stats. Look at career stats.

  15. Definitely Ichiro. He is the the best statistically, and the most unselfish of the group.

  16. Let's put it this way. If we starting a team today I'd pick Reyes. His youth is a MAJOR advantage.

If I was looking for a short term burst of help, I could see picking Ichiro.

Pierre isn't in the same class as the other two.

As an aside, it's ridiculous to say Ichiro is twice the player than Reyes. It's exactly that kind of non-sensical comment which illustrates people's tendency to ridiculously exaggerate as a way to support their opinion. A person can believe what they want. Nothing wrong with that. But making off-the-wall comments like that just undermines their credability.

  17. Ichiro has the most homeruns I think, but Jose has the most hits in the league this year. as well as the most triples and i think doubles. They all are very good players, but Juan can't seem to ever hit it out of the park.

  18. oFFENSIVLY, I IGHT HAVE TO SAY ICHIRO, JOSE REYES HAS GOOD SPEED o YEAH , ICHIRO DOES ALSO iCHIRO A THE WAY

  19. Jose Reyes here are their stats

    Jose avg.305 hr 12 rbi 49 r 81 sb 37

    Ichiro     .306     4       29   76     35.
