  1. Jamaica.

I like St. Lucia and so many others too.

Sorry but Aruba is my least favorite island

  2. Hi, Jessica,

My suggestion after reading your question would be look at Puerto Plata - Dominican Republic. There you will find everything from nice beaches (big ones) and not to expensive. A lot to do and to discover is also one of the many possibilities down here. I'm a VIP tour operator (inbound) so if you need more info, just ask me I'm happy to help you.

    Happy Feet

  3. The island that comes to mind with the best night life is St Maarten/St Martin. Two islands in one. St Martin is the french side and St Maarten is the dutch side. I think the island is one of the best all around islands.

Plenty of bars, clubs, casinos and excellent restaurants. Considered the gourmet capital of the Caribbean. The beaches are really very nice with plenty of water sports. You are a ferry ride away from St Barths, Saba and the beautiful island of Anguilla.

Rental of cars are very reasonable and the only way to get around as far as I'm concerned.

The locals are friendly and you really have a good choice of lodging. Here is a link

The duty free shopping in St Maarten is some of the best shopping you will find in the Caribbean especially for jewelry. The duty free liquor prices also are excellent.

Once you have researched your possibilities and you have any specific questions come back.

Good Luck and enjoy your trip in the Carinbean where ever you decide)

  4. There is a two islands off the Florida coast that are USA protectorates. they do not get a lot of tourists and you can fly there with out passports and stay as long  you can afford or like. I know they had a show on the Lonely planet series about them. There is a snorkeling trail. You buy/hire a mask flippers and snorkel. Go along a marked trail on ocean floor, and see the coral, and look at everything under water. people are nice, and friendly . I know one of the beaches was named Golden Bear. If not there try Cuba they do not get a lot of tourists, you can go via Mexico or Venezuela .  people are friendly Luxury hotels at reasonably cheap price. Plenty of live performances on the street by musicians. More natural food , nice Ice cream, and for a kick see the people having a laugh at the polatics. Also cars made back in thities and forties still running, butey full beaches unspoilt, and take a ture of the inland areas. See things other turists do not see. The Cuban people love to see youg couples together and actualy encourage it.

  5. We have visited at least 15 destinations in the Caribbean including Aruba. Every place is a different experience. Some are better at watersports and weaker at nightlife, and vice versa.

Here are four of our favorites:

    1. Aruba was great because we stayed at a Marriott Renaissance that owns a small private island just off the coast of Aruba. You take a 15-minute ride out there and relax in a beautiful private cove. Aruba nightlife is pretty good and watersports are easily accessible.

    2. Dominican Republic is a hot spot if you can afford an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. But you typically don't rent a car because you stay within the resort. Any nightlife will be at a resort nightclub. Watersports are very strong there, especially at the resorts.

    3. Cancun has virtually all of the restaurants, hotels and nightclubs on one long strip. Nightlife is stronger than most places we have visited, but watersports are a little weaker than the other two above.

    4. St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands has a good combination of nightlife and watersports.

The Caribbean travel guide below has more information:

  6. tobago, west indies.  you'll meet the most friendly people you could ever imagine.  beautiful beaches, unspoilt natural beauty, watersports, deep sea fishing, you'll even learn how to 'wine down'..lol. sipping cocktails maybe in a hammock on the beach watching the sunset as it gently kisses the blue sea. rental cars are not a problem as there are lots all over the island. enjoy the local dance groups while having dinner at a restaurant, maybe even learn the 'limbo'.
