  1. Unfortunately any time a NEW ship comes out, you pay for it. People want to go on a new ship, therefore creating demand, and demand makes the price go UP! I have heard the NCL Pear is really nice, although I liked all the Princess ships, and the Conquest.

  2. I would not not travel Royal Caribbean after hearing the story that happened recently.  I can't find anything about it on the computer because I can't remember the girls' name.  Some lady was ill and they wouldn't change their course, seeing as the captain was drunk and partying with people on the ship.  She ended up dying.  I would stick to like Norwegian.  Its a very nice line, my favorite as well.  It's also freestyle which is nice.

  3. I am particularly fond of the Carnival Glory out of Port Canaveral.  it is about 4 years old, still new by cruise ship standards.  You can get a cruise to the Eastern or Western Caribbean for in the five to six hundred dollar range in the off season.

  4. I have always cruised on princess and I am so happy with them, I don't look elsewhere.

  5. I like Royal Caribbean. They're beautiful, have lots to do and are affordable in price.

  6. Currently the newest ship in Royal Caribbean's fleet is the Liberty of the Seas (built in 2007).  Later in 2008 the Independence of the Seas will start sailing.  After the European season it will come to Florida and start doing Caribbean sailings.  The Freedom, Liberty and Independence of the Seas are currently the largest cruise ships.  However, in 2009 the Royal Caribbean Genesis will join the fleet.  When it does, it will be the largest cruise ship by far (it will be more than 1/3 larger than the three Freedom class ships).

Currently the newest ship in Carnival's fleet is the Carnival Freedom (built in 2007).  Later this year the Carnival Splendor will join the fleet.  After the European season it will do some cruises in the Caribbean.  Then it will sail around South American and eventually end up in Long Beach.

Currently the newest ship in Norwegian's fleet is the Norwegian Gem (built in 2007).  It sails to the Caribbean out of New York.  In February the current Pride of Hawaii (built in 2006) will be renamed the Norwegian Jade and head east.  In mid February it will sail from Los Angeles to Miami.  Then at the end of February it will said across the Atlantic and cruise in the Mediterranean.  The next new built for Norwegian is not scheduled to join the fleet until early 2010.

Celebrity's newest ship, the Celebrity Solstice, will join the fleet at the end of 2008.

Currently Holland America Line (HAL) newest ship is the Noordam (built in 2006).  In the middle of 2008 the Eurodam will join the fleet.

Currently Princess' newest ship is the Emerald Princess (built in 2007).  At the end of 2008, the Ruby Princess will join the fleet.

This covers your question about newest ships in the Caribbean that are not outrageously expensive.
