Out of control 12 year old?

Question

My brother is 12 years old. He constantly cries, kicks and calls names for nothing. He can't sleep in his own room. If something doesn't go his way he kicks, yells or calls that person names. He calls everyone rude names and yeah, it hurts. My parents try everything and he won't do anything. He slaps them and everything and I'm sick of it. What can I do? I just wanna move out already to get away from him.

There's nothing you personally can do about it.

It sounds to me, speaking from experience (my 8-year-old sister is the same way), that he just wants attention.

Although, from the way he's treating your parents, it would appear that he doesn't want it from them. It's very normal for young children to seek outward attention from teachers, baby sitters, cousins, ect.

Try and find someone that he doesn't call a name (someone older than he is) and tell them that he's seeking their attention/approval.

It might help, though I cannot guarantee anything.

get him evalutated by a psychlogist, it could be a number of things from autism to unresolved anger.

Your parents need to be more assertive!  If he can't get his act together I would suggest military school or at least psychiatric help.  However, I really believe your parents can correct his behavior.

There's not much you can do sweetie.  If I were you, I would give him a good ************ but ya know that's just what I would do.  Good luck!

Well, if your parents aren't white and have never laid their hands on him....your parents need counseling. If they're white, for god sakes, beg your parents to beat him up!

Seriously, I don't understand what GROUNDING will do.

My friends get grounded, they still talk back, scream, yell, go out, have s*x, get pregnant, do drugs and drink around, etc. I get beaten, and I stay in my room. My friends get beaten...they don't even pick up their phone. you gotta teach him what respect is. If I had a kid, I'd lie to him saying we're going on vacation to korea, beat the c**p out of him, and bring him back(it's legal in korea to beat your kid up). If it comes to worst and they don't want to beat him up, etc. drag him to military school. If that doesn't work, I literally mean it when I said to drag him to korea.

That's terrible. He may have ADHD? :S I am not sure, but it's where your hyper or can't sit still I think. You guys should think about putting him on  ritolin. (It's a drug) Alot of kids take it (if needed)Search it up. I could be wrong though. Best of luck!xo

You have my full sympathy. I think your folks and your brother need to see a counsellor, it's not doing him any favours to indulge him every time he has a tantrum. Especially at that age.

Thats crazy call super nanny or when he slaps you dont yell or run away stand your ground grab his hand and say firmly to stop or better hit him back!  when he gets out of control lock him in his room to let him calm down and ignore him... my 7 year old brother had an anger problem and he went and saw a shrink and hes alot better now!  Maybe theres a counselor at school he can see?
