  1. The entire population?

    Including infants, babies and children?

Eventually, all of them since Social Security exists for them all.

  2. I'm a single 24 year old women trying to buy groceries and I have a 401k. that I contribute to monthly. The Company matches aswell.. so by the time I'm old enough to retire, I will or should be set.. so its possible for anyone to save for retirment. any form or long term savings is saving for the future.

  3. The vast majority are "able" to secure a retirement plan. Anyone can open an Roth IRA.  Put a little $20 a week in there.  Amazing how fast that will add up plus what ever interest you make.

The problem is we are a nation of consumers and we consume every dime we make plus several quarters we don't have. That is why people do not have retirement plans.

If you put $2,000 a year away (starting in early 20s)  for about 20 years you will be a Millionaire when you retire.  The longer you wait the less you will have and the less likely you will be able to retire.
