  1. Kennedy would have been. Clinton was the best president while in office. Carter has been the best post-presidency.

  2. I'm gonna have to say "Tie" between Kennedy and Reagan....both great men

  3. Regan, Just take a look at how he freed the Hostages in Iran.

  4. Clinton- he left our county in the best economic shape it had been since the Truman administration.

  5. Clinton. Monica Lewinsky aside, he was a great economist and created NAFTA.

  6. Greetings!  Which was the best of the last ten Presidents?

    Let's see now...

    10.  George W Bush - his legacy is shot.  His deception to get us involved in the Iraq war and the userption of our basic rights has earned him a place in American Infamy.  The best that will be reflected is that Pierce, Buchanan and Grant's rating will be elevated by W's presence once history is done with him.

    9.  Lyndon Johnson -  Yes, he had the right idea of helping humanity domestically, including establishing Head Start and signing the Civil rights act, but he grossly misinterpreted the strength and resolve of the North Vietnamese and poured in way too many soldiers to die senselessly.

    8.  Jimmy Carter - His Presidency was an unmitigated disaster, but unlike W, he genuinely cared for humanity and did not send people into senseless slaughter (The helicopter attempt was not his fault exclusively, but he did take responsibility).  Also, Carter's post-presidential statesmanship has  been beyond exemplary...maybe the best former president statesmen we have ever had.

    7. Dwight Eisenhower - He did pass the Interstate act and also sent troops to Little Rock AR, but did little else beyond being a spokesperson for the Republican party.   Very good general, though. Probably the best general officer to become President

    6.  Richard Nixon -  Someone outside of the US history, would probably rate him one of the very best Presidents

we have ever had.  His foreign policy was supurb, but his involvement in Watergate cover up heaped tremendous disgrace on the oval office

    5.  John Kennedy - He stood up to Castro during the Cuban Missile crisis, and also gave a great image of a beautiful nation based on his beautiful family, but he took some serious egg on his face on the Bay of Pigs.  Also, he had a revolving door of womenizing makes Clinton look like a choirboy.  His current high rating stands for his family and his assassination, not his national or foreign policies.

    4. Gerald Ford - FORD????  The man who pardoned Nixon?

Our country was going through tremendous disgrace after Nixon's resignation and would have appeared to have followed with further trials and tribulations.  By pardoning Nixon, it forced the nation to get over that hump and continue doing what we do best.  He also got us out of Viet Nam...yes, that too was a mess, but there was no clean way out from that quagmire.  But both had to be done, and Ford did it.

    3.  GW Bush - I couldn't stand his domestic agendas and yes, he did say "READ MY LIPS", but we did have to make a military stand in both Panama and in Kuwait. I'm no warmonger, but military intervention is needed at times and it was needed. He conducted both in very strong and deliberate fashions.  He also knew when to call it quits...something his son didn't pick up on.

    2.  Reagan - If you are a conservative (which I am not), you have to give him tremendous props.  He conducted a conservative agenda that was was very strong and purposeful.  He did let Iran Contra run away from him, however.  He also conducted short, quick military ops without full wars.

    1.  Bill Clinton -  If you are a liberal, (or a moderate liberal as I am), you have to acknowledge the NAFTA treaty, the Brady Law, the tremendous economic boom the 90's had, and with the exception of a few military skirmishes, we stayed war free.  Yes, he got caught with his pants down (literally), but if you read history, he is not the only president who has had affairs in the White House.  And if you bring up Whitewater, if the special prosecutor thought he had the goods on him for that, he would not have hesitated to bring up charges.  He didn't bring charges so Whitewater amounted to little.

The last two I mentioned must be looked upon whether or not you are arch conservative or liberal.

I know I am going to take some brickbats, but this is how I see it.

    Hope this helps.  Take care.

  7. Kennedy or Reagan
