Question:

Out of the ordinary shot?

On a par 4-352 yards, my drive was below average, probably 190 yards, leaving me with roughly 160 yards for my second shot. I used my 5 iron and nail a good shot, it went way right however. I hear the ball hit the cart path, I'm worried because the cart path is right next to a creek. My friend, who is at a better angle, informed me that my ball hit the cart path, then hit a cart that was parked and my ball was 10 feet from the cup. Needless to say, I putted the ball in for birdie. BTW- this was my best day of golf ever. I played an executive course, par 58, and shot a 71! Hopefully I've taken the next step! What was your strangest shot?

  1. nice. One time i was golfing and the person i was golfing hit there shot into the water hazard and it skipped across the water and onto the green.

  2. My 1st hole in one was a worm burner 6 iron 178 yards ON THE GROUND, it never left the hole!

  3. Back when i was 13 ( i don't remember the course but it was in northeast pa) i was playing in a tournament and we came to a 500+ yd par 5. I hit my drive along the right side where the cart path was. It was a blind shot so i didn't think anything of it when i didn't see it bounce off the path and figured it was in the rough. We spent the 5 minutes looking for the ball all up and down the path and i ended up having to go back to play a lost ball drive and finished the hole with the provisional.  While we're walking off the green, i see a ball next to the cart path and say "you're kidding". I picked it up and it was my first drive - (marked with my name) -- all chewed up from a 500 yard trip down the cart path.  Best anybody could figure, it hit the downslope of the cart path just beyond the blind spot which made it jump forward. the cart path was strait down the hole until it turned  just before the green.  Sucks we found it later. that could've been an eagle.

  4. I hit a birdie. Literally. I drove with a 7-wood to reach the 190-yard elbow of a dogleg. A bird flew by and was hit by the ball in flight. The poor creature died.

  5. I'm a recreational golfer and don't play a lot. I've only hit one birdie my entire life. It was a par 4. My 2nd shot was a 9-iron but I pulled up and the bottom of the club hit the ball. It was horrible impact but the ball bounced up onto the green within a few feet of the cup.

The best part was that I was playing a $1 per hole skins game against 2 of my friends (hey, it was jr-high, so $1 per hole wasn't as trivial as it might sound). The past 6 holes had been draws so I won $7 with it.

  6. I hit an approach to a par 4 and it bounced around like a pinball in a tree that protected the green.  It fell about 15 feet away from the pin, rolled down the green and into the cup for an eagle.  Pure luck, but as they say, better to be lucky than good.

I also killed a crow with a skulled 4 iron and a murder of crows followed me for about 4 holes, cawing at me the whole time.

  7. Ona par 5 (can't remember the yardage) there are powerlines tha cross the fairway about 90 yards in front of the green. I hit a great drive (about 280) and then followed it up with a terrific second shot that was heading straight at the pin. Unfortunately, it hit the power line. This happened 6 times in a rown and there are only 3 powerlines and they are spaced out quite far from eachother so the chances of me doing this was slim to none. The reason why I hit it 6 times was because you get a do-over when you hit them.

  8. I hit a shot into a par four from about 150 and hit it stiff, really stiff.  I went into the woods to look for my buddy's ball and went I came out the ball had disappeared- into the cup.

I hit a 2 iron into a par 5 on my second shot to a blind green.  I knew it was a good shot but we couldnt find the ball.  We looked all over the place and I was pissed.  My buddy looked in the hole and there it was...double eagle.

  9. on a par 4, maybe my 4th time ever playing golf, i hit 2 shots and had about 100 yards left to the green and i skulled a pitching wedge and nailed a turkey right in the ***!! the turkey was about 50 yards away, and on the next shot i proceeded to pitch in from 50 yards out for par!! it was absolutely insane
