  1. LA

  2. 1. Pirates- Got a lot of prospects for Bay.

    2. Red Sox- Got a quality OF and got rid of a clubhouse cancer.

    3. Dodgers- Got Manny.

  3. 1. Dodgers

    2. Pirates

    3. Redsox

  4. 1. Pirates

    2. Dodgers

    3. Red Sox

Now that the Pirates have a GM that has some guts, he wasn't afraid to trade one of their best players for quite possibly 3-4 very good players. Let's face it, the Bucs were going nowhere again this year and just improved their chances for 2009, 2010 and beyond. The Dodgers get immediate help and it will probably be enough to win them the weak NL West. Boston gets a former and future All-Star and after the fans see him play on a daily basis, they won't miss Manny being Manny.

  5. pirates with all the potential prospects they got.

  6. I agree with your order!

    1. Dodgers (Get Manny Ramirez for 2 Good Athletes!) (Wilson and Laroche)!

    2. Pirates (Get 4 Great, Young Athletes for Jason Bay!!!!)  (Including Scott Hansen) (One of the best prospects in the league!)

    3. Red Sox (Get Jason Bay for Manny Ramirez?  Manny has over 500 homeruns and you trade him for JASON BAY?  I don't understand that!)

    Good Luck!

  7. I have to agree with your order.  Even though Manny is a distraction, he is a great hitter and a future hall of famer.  The pirates get 4 solid prospects for bay.  The redsox lose manny and 2 prospects for bay who is not as good as manny even though they have similar numbers.

  8. The dodgers by far they really didn't give up that much. Manny is a good player I think he is just tired of Boston.

  9. The Pirates

  10. I say the Yankees got the best of this deal, no longer do we have to deal with Manny killing us when he is in an at bat.

I feel sorry for the Pirates fans, I actually work with a guy who told me 2 weeks ago that Nady and Bay woud be gone after the All Star break and before the trade deadline,  he was dead @ssed on, after all the Pirates are the best farm team in the minors

  11. 1. Pirates- ended up with 4 great prospects.

    2. Dodgers- Manny is going to help them out a lot.

    3. Red Sox- If this was a regular situation they lost enormously. They had to get rid of Manny, so I don't have a problem with what they did. Bay should be a good addition, and addition by subtraction tells me it was a good deal for them to make, they had no choice really.

  12. Right now it looks like the DODGERS got the best of the trade...but we have to see how the prospects do....

  13. Yankees, the AL East is no longer a battle between Boston and New York because they lost their 2nd best player.  Oh, and don't expect Tampa to keep this up through September and October.  The Championship is coming back to the Bronx babyyyy!!!

  14. the pirates, they gave up someone that wouldnt make them any better for what may be future hall of famers, they have 9 prospects for giving up 2 great, but not excellent players. theyre going to be really good eventually

  15. Dodgers did.... i dont like jason bay and the 2 prospects are gonna blow it

  16. 1. Pirates

    2. Red Sox

    3. Dodgers

Pirates needed to rebuild and they got 4 prospects back for Jason Bay. Andy LaRoche was a stud prospect and will play 3B immediately. Plus he is a cheap option and under contract for 5 more years. Craig Hansen was a high upside prospect and he will probably develop into a solid pitcher. They needed to rebuild and they got a ton for their money.

Red Sox did great getting rid of Manny. This is a guy who has played around 130 games for the past 2 seasons and could very well get another "injury" and sit out the last 40 games of the year. It's not Manny's antics. It's the possibility of him not playing when the Sox need him the most. I hated to see Hansen go but Moss wasn't going to play anyways and Bay to me is a upgrade over Manny.

Now I say the Dodgers did the worst because 1, you will now see the effect of Manny not playing a game against the Monster. He will get a chance to showcase his defensive "capabilities" everyday now. Plus they have too many OFs to play. Lastly, (and most importantly) they lost Andy LaRoche. He was a stud prospect and the Dodgers still don't have a legitimate 3B. Getting Manny's bat helped but losing LaRoche was not good at all. It's basically selling your future 3B for a half season of Manny.
