Out of these cities which is closest to Wilkes Barre, PA?

These cities I'm planning to take the bus to the closest city near Wilkes Barre, PA and hopefully get a taxi or public transportation to Wilkes Barre from the closest city.

1. Blooming Grove

2. Hawley

3. Honesdale

4. Indian Orchard

5. Lords Valley

6. Matamoras

7. Milford

8. Tafton

9. White Mills

10. Philly

Please help me please I need this ASAP!

Except for Philly you are naming really small towns and a taxi would cost a fortune.  Why not just take the bus to Wilkes Barre?

Are you looking at the CoachUSA/Short Line buses? Your list of cities looks like their stops. I'm unsure of why you picked those cities, but I think they all run commuter service into NYC.

You'd be able to get to Wilkes Barre much easier and cheaper from Philadelphia or New York City even though they are farther away as Greyhound runs between those cities. So if you can get to any of the stops along those routes, it's easy. Can you get to Scranton, Easton, Stroudsburg, Mount Pocono, or Newark? Otherwise, take the commuter of your choice to the Port Authority in NYC and walk over to the Greyhound to WB.

Additional details:

I took a second look at this once I woke up. These towns are all in the same area of the Poconos. Blooming Grove is the closest, Honesdale is close and has a taxi company (Maple City Transit). They are both about 50 miles from WB. You should probably call the taxi companies and ask them the best town. I'd guess that the rates are flat -- that is, BG to WB is always the same amount and isn't metered.

Try using Google Earth or Mapquest to help ya'! That way you will get exact numbers and can see an ariel view.
