Outboard engine hour question?

Hello,

Called an outboard place today, they will give me a credit for my outboard, but over the phone they asked me what the engine hours are, (Hour metre). Anyone know how to get this?

most outboards i have worked with dont have an hour meter.  just guess how much time you have used the outboard and tell them that. i hope this helps. :)

If you have a newer model,with fuel injection,or larger 4 stroke ,the engine has a onboard computer that logs hrs of use,# of hrs. at different RPM ranges etc.

  If you have a smaller or older engine then you have to estimate the # of running hrs.
