Outboard motor question!! I have a 15 hp stuck in gear and cant get it into neutral or reverse?

The linkages are fine, I have taken the gearbox out and It seems to be stuck in the gearbox. I can move the connecting rod up and down which should change it from forward to neautral and reverse but It is still stuck in forward gear.

sounds like you would need to throw an anchor in the water pretty quick, or circle round safely until the fuel runs out
