Outbound Conka rated favourite for William Hill Sprint Trophy
Outbound Conka is all set to take victory in the William Hill Sprint Trophy at Nottingham in England on Monday, March 26, 2012. The cash prize for the winning greyhound has been set as £150.
The Grade OR event will start at 19:32 GMT and the runners will be fighting over 305 metres to take victory. Following are the entries confirmed for the flat race: Outbound Conka, Corleones Dondon, Romeo At Risk, Gold Finch, Riverside Steve and Slippery
Tigger.
Out of the above hounds, Outbound Conka is a very good starter and that helped him get the best odds for today’s race. He will like the shorter distance to cover, as the other runners will struggle to match his pace at the beginning.
Due to this, the punters will be placing quite a lot of bets in Outbound Conka’s favour. P. Cowdrill’s trainee has been in good race form, as he finished runner up in his most recent outing. He was rated favourite to win that event, but failed to live up
to the expectations of everyone.
However, the black dog will still be dominant in today’s race, as he is in very good shape at the moment. He is the son of Head Bound out of Ballymac Iota and was born in August 2009.
The bookies have also given pretty decent odds to Corleones Dondon, who has not been in good rhythm over the past couple of races. However, he is a quality runner and can break the shackles at Nottingham today.
P. Timmins’ trainee finished sixth in his most recent outing, thus the bettors will not have much confidence in his abilities. He is fully aware of the conditions at Nottingham though and will be a force to reckon here.
The fawn dog is the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Corleones Flyer and was born in December 2008.
Apart from the top two favourites, Romeo At Risk will also be the one to watch out for. He has not been in good form recently, but still has the potential of causing an upset. He has got the speed to match the best in the business, thus the bettors will
be risking some money in his favour.
The real battle will be amongst the top three runners whereas the rest of the pack will not find things easy in this class.
