Question:

Outdoor Games and Activities for School Aged Kids?

Hello,

We are opening up a home daycare and were wondering what types of out-door backyard games and activities we can have for school aged children ages 6-10. We are getting a basket ball hoop, but is there anything else we can purchase relatively in-expensive for children to play outside besides those expensive large play-structures? We are not ready to invest in those at this time.

Thanks all in advance.....

oh and with the summer here, you can get the old fashioned sprinkler or other water games.

  5. Hmmm...for a large group, now that's going to be a little tricky.  LoL there is Duck, Duck, Goose.

Oh!  I know, I loved playing with this huge circular blanket thing that is made out of tent material.  What the kids did was they would count to 3, lift it over their heads, and go inside so it would be like a tent.  There are plenty of other things you can do with it, like you can throw balls on top and make them bounce and stuff.  I always felt it was really fun.

    There is tug-a-war.

    There are the 3-legged runs.

Um...you can get your kids to get partners and have all of these water balloons, you give each group a water balloon filled with water and they have to pass it to each other without breaking it, whoever lasts the longest wins.

  6. Well here we go,

Get some  white paint,   paint a hopscotch on the side walk or the padio.    You could also paint a four sqare box.  and purchase  balls.

wiffleball is always fun,  kick ball,  Jump ropes,  avoid football or soccer due to the fact that kids could get hurt  if things get to rough.

bean bag toss,   all you need is some bean bags and buckets.    frisbe toss  you need a frisbe a starting line and a circle.    marbels,   Jacks,

A water table.    kids love to make things   you can save up recyclables to use for the kids to build their own boats and float them in the water.  Just make sure you change the water every day and clean it with bleach water.

put in a sand box,  loaded with buckets and shovels.  make sure you buy clean sand.  to protect kids clothing  and protect against cuts.

    side walk chalk,  hoola hoops,

Games:  simon says,   Red light Green light,   Red Rover,
