Outdoor Theater Sound System question?

Hi there-

We would like to show a movie outdoors for about 100-200 people. Our big question is about speakers- we'd like them to be wireless so people aren't tripping on them.

So, has anyone used two wireless speakers outside?

Could 200 people hear sound from them easily?

Or, can four wireless speakers run off the same transmitter?

Wireless speakers are really unreliable and usually dont sound good or loud, nor are they wireless sometimes.  Outside with that many people you are going to need either more than 4 or use wired speakers.  Most people that know audio would never suggest using wireless.  Remember people have 5 speakers on there home theaters inside.  Outside you need more sound and for that many people that is going to be a good sized area. 4 wireless speakers wont give you enough sound

If this is a one time event, I would call a local DJ company to run the sound.  They can do it for anywhere from $300 -$600, less than what good speakers would cost you, and they will have much better speakers.

If this is an on-going event, get wired speakers and have the wires run so people will not trip on them.  I would think the total cost would be around $3,000.

Four speakers can be run off the same transmitter. I personally have never used them but I have installed the entire setup before. With four speakers I'd set them up in the corners of where you plan for most of the people to be sitting.
