  1. Every once in awhile I go for walks with the kids. We go looking for pine cones. Perfect, pretty pinecones. They have so much fun doing this. Gather them up in their own little bag. Bring them home and paint them.

  2. It depends on where you are located.

My kids love the local parks.

Going on a picnic is always nice.

Take them to fly a kite.

Going on a hike to see wildflowers is a great thing in the spring.

Go to a swimming pool - If she is not already swimming at 5 it is time she learned.

  3. You could take her swimming and mabe even take her to the park and play some tag with her!

I think that will make her real happy!

  4. Plant a garden, go exploring under rocks and near brooks or lakes, go fly a kite, go to the park, go bike riding, play jump rope with her, hopscotch, make mud pies.

  5. bubbles, kites,rolling a big beach ball

  6. Have a bike or trike-a-thon as a fund raiser for your favorite charity.  (Children's Hospital, St. Judes', Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer...) , make a poster around a theme like Springtime - let her name all the things associated with spring, find as many outside as you can, then let her find some on the Internet print the picture and the word and paste to the poster,  ride bikes together and teacher her bike riding rules, Ask a friend over and have them prepare their lunch with you then eat it outside on a blanket in the front yard with loud music playing while you dance and act silly, let her comb and style your hair and you wear it like that ALL DAY (make sure you do not have anywhere to go except your backyard)  smile,  go to www.starfall.com and go through the website with her (I guess that is for the inside), have a mommy and daughter spa day at home (nails, massages, pedicure, etc.) in the backyard,  do art work on the walls in the garage (buy the chalk board paint and make a chalkboard out there), jump rope and hoolahoop to funny music, and fix ice-cream treats with anything on them you like.   Go for a long walk and play "I spy." Let her help you wash the car and get her all wet - she'll have a blast getting you back.  Then go to a $1 movie and sleep the day off. Have a blast!!!!!!!

  7. go to the park, roller skate, bike riding, write on the driveway/sidewalk with chalk, hopscotch, run thru the lawn sprinkler, plant some flowers and tend them, feed the birds or go to a duck pond and feed them, take nature hikes, make a fun outing of taking a trash bag and picking up litter on your block on a sat morning, dance in the rain, put her in the wagon with her favorite baby doll and take her for a walk! Have fun!

  8. Bucket of water and thick paint brush. Children love to 'paint' the house. Water dries, so no marks are left visable. Really cheap activity, but children really enjoys it.

    Hop scotch,

Go to a park and feed the ducks

  9. Go on a nature walk and find things that start with each letter of the alphabet  :)

  10. take her to parks and reservations, museums and all sorts of educational yet fun things. Art museums work well with that age as well. I remember when i was that age my mom took me to all sorts of places. And something that i try to tell all parents is that from the ages 3 to 8 or 9 try to get your daughter to eat as much foreign foods as possible, because about that age is when there taste buds open up so they aquire a taste for different foods as well as the want to try new foods. But once they reach about 10 there taste buds close up until they are about 20 through 24. So get her out there, try new and exciting things, don't take her to a boring place like a history museum, though i went to some pretty interesting history museums as a kid. Make sure that she is always having fun, or things wont stick. that is how i got to be so succesful in life. i hope that helps, Kate
