    You got a security camera?

Uh... OK. It looks like it should be OK it that is what you need.

The type of cable you need will depend on your location.

The camera needs power and needs to connect to a monitor or video recorder or computer. They sell expensive cable that carries the power and video signal... or...

Most of the cameras around my house have power close by so all I did was plug them in. The I ran CAT5 cabling from the camera to the 4-channel DVR.

For recording, if you plan to use a PC, you can get a card to install:

    Or...

You can just get a standalone DVR

Some of these can also connect using Ethernet to an IP network - and you can get to it remotely with your computer...

I guess it depends what your plans are - I have found that after you get one camera, you end up wanting more... I started at 1, expanded to 4... and now I am looking to expand to 8.
