Outlook 2007 - Can you reinstall to new computer?

I am buying a new computer, if I uninstall outlook 2007 from my old computer would I be able to reinstall to the new one with the same product code?

  1. assuming you have the original CD (and product key/serial #) to install it, yes it's not a problem.

    depending on how different your new pc is, when you go through the "activation" process of outlook it may give you an error message about it being copied.  There will also be a 800 # to call MS for assistance.  Just call them and let them know what you're doing and they'll walk you through it over the phone

    fyi...when you go through the activation process it transmits your product key and some other info about your pc to microsoft.  Then if you try using the same product key on a different computer and the hardware has changed drastically, they know you're installing the same product key on a different computer and that's when you get the message about having to call them to complete the process.  Sometimes you never get the error, sometimes you do.

    But regardless, if you legally bought the software you can move it to another computer as long as you've uninstalled the first one.


  2. Yes, as long it's running only on one pc at a time you can move it whenever and wherever you want.
