I'm trying to configure my gmail account in Outlook 2007 for POP3 access (not IMAP). However the only option in setting up my email account is for IMAP. I tried deleting the account and re-adding it, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

  1. If the option to setup a POP, IMAP, or Exchange email account type is missing or disabled, it may be enabled by the following steps:

    Go to registry editor

    HKEY Current User

    Software

    Microsoft

    Office

    12.0

    Outlook

    Options (single click)

Change the value of Disable POP3 (or whichever account type is disabled) from 0 to 1

This will enable the disabled account type.
