Outlook has weird symbols

I accidentally hit an unknown hotkey which messed up my editing mode in Outlook.

When i compose or reply to an email in outlook, I get a backwards P at the end of every new line. When i hit the space bar, I get a floated period instead of an actual space.

How do I change Outlook to its normal editing mode?

I don't have Outlook so I can't say for sure, but it sounds like you've got some sort of option like 'View Carriage Returns' on. Try the 'View' menu, then check for any options like 'Carriage Returns', 'Spaces', 'Paragraphs', 'Line Breaks' etc and try turning these off. It doesn't matter if they don't turn off though, as they don't show up when they are emailed to other people.
