Output on Amp Question?

My amp has preamp output. It is also a mono amp if that matters. I'm receiving a 4 channel amp and would liek to know if I just connect the amp to the output. Or would I have to run a pair of rca's to the back of my head unit

As long as the signal coming out of the amp isn't filtered by a crossover, or on a dedicated sub output, you could do this.

The only problem is, you would lose the fader control from the head unit.
