The Regina Isabella, a 5-star hotel in Italy (Ischia) is charging 860 euro a night (beginning of August). Is this outrageous??? How much should a 5-star hotel in Italy cost in August?

(The person working there told us to "make an offer"!!) What should we offer??

Thank you...

  1. Italy is expensive, August is tourist season and you are looking at a five star hotel.  You will find similar prices at other comparable establishments.  You may want to think about lowering your standards to fit your budget if these prices alarm you.  Also, as I am sure you know, the dollar is very weak right now so that is going to make everything even more expensive than it already is.

You want a 5 star luxury hotel, you are going to pay for it.

You want a tent and a sleeping bag, well you get the idea.

If the 'rate' is 850 Euro, and the manager said, make me an offer! , common sense tells me to offer 1/2, 425 E.

Do not expect to get it at that rate, that is the art of negotiations, expect to settle at 610.

Still high. I would druther stay on a sailboat.

We all get one ticket to ride this orb around the star we call The Sun, make it happy for you and others.

    Enjoy the moments that are.

  3. Italy is notoriously expensive and August is in peak tourist season, so that price is actually in line with other luxury properties in the region. Luxury properties are expensive, but the experience is unbeatable!

You may want to compare it to other Luxury properties in Italy before making your offer: http://www.kiwicollection.com/luxury-hot...

  4. Well, looking at the location, the services provided by the hotel, the rating of the hotel and talking about August... it actually doesn't seem expensive.

There are lots of cheaper hotels, this is a high-rated one in one of the most exclusive (or even posh :) holiday location not only in Italy but worldwide.

  5. check out these websites

    venere.com

    hotels.com

    pensioni.com

er...sorry if my englih is not so good

  7. August is high season and this is  a so called 5 star hotel... What do you expect?

  8. the rates are really clear on the website:

  9. Try vacationing in your back yard [50 mi radius] and spending money in your own state. Think about it. Avoid the airline morass and high prices for everything.
