Outside Country cat moving to the suburbs?

I live in the country now on 3 acres and my outside cat goes in and out like a dog. He never uses a litter box unless its either storming outside or 10 below. I am moving to a

" neighborhood" How do I make his transition better for him and keep him from making a neighbor mad. I am not sure how he will be in the suburbs. Do people get mad at roaming cats. ? Taking him is not even a question, he is our baby.

  1. Going to the suburbs lol i recommend you make him a indoor cat too many cars and mean people in this world to let your baby out. when i was growing up i lived in the country and had an outdoor cat. well we moved to the suburbs and my poor baby got hit by a local car in the neighborhood. good luck

  2. I've lived and raised two cats , both indoor outdoor like yours, It's not a problem.. There are territorial battles though, and they have to be car wary to cross the streets, otherwise, they both lived to 14yrs. old. They may get picked up by animal control so have some ID on them.if they are roaming, or they get lost.

  3. In my neighborhood, people don't get mad at roaming cats - but what if he gets lost.  Maybe you should try going outside with him at first.

  4. Time to make him a indoor cat. They adjust and are just as happy. I have one cat who use to be a stray and now he is a indoor cat. He is terrified of the outdoors now.
