Question:

Outside corner moulding, how small can I get it?

I'm wrapping up a cabinet refacing job, but need to find one last thing to tie it together nicely.

I need some outside corner moulding to pull a couple corners together that didn't come out so well.

The problem is that I cannot find anything under 3/4" x 3/4". I know I've seen it small before, maybe 1/4" to 3/8", but I cannot seem to find it now that I need it and the guys at the lumber and wood supply places can't find it either.

Am I going to need to go to some model building supply type place for it?

  1. Yeah, like Doc said, cabinet suppliers.  You can get outside corners that are relatively small.  Also scribe.  Use a small brad, don't nail too close to the end, these pieces can split easily.

  2. 3/8 X 3/8 X 24

  3. Some lumber companies have a catalog of molding you can order from.

  4. I don't know where the "places" are you have tried, but have you tried any "cabinet" making shops?

Part of the issue in corner trim sold at a Lowes or HD is much of it's notion in the design relates to wall corners, not cabinets, and the 3/4 is to allow anough surface area for the brad or finish nailer to bite into the wall surface, whatever that may be.

Have you done a general search online for corner molding? It may be more expensive, but suit your needs?

    Just my two "sense"
