Alright im a Senior in high school and my defensive coach decided to try me out at defensive end...Right now im only 5'10 and i weight 175 with a bench of 290 and a squat of 400. My 40 time is a 4.51. I usually play outside linebacker but im only 2nd string. If i move down to Defensive end im almost a guarenteed a spot to start. Would it be better to move down to DE or stay at OLB...? and i undersized for a DE at high school level..? Please give me your opinions

  1. If I was you I will take DE because 5 years ago I was your same size and sturdy as well. But i was put in nose-tackle and I was second highest tackles in the season it is challenge, just be quick and be smart to beat the offices line men.

  2. play DE if u can start!

  3. if you would weigh like 205-210 than you would make a great d end but you weigh to less to be a lineman but you do  have a great body to be able to give and take hits especially sam linebacker. so go with linebacker. or if your not so  do good as d-end than definitely stay as linebacker

  4. Be a linebacker. If you're a DE, you will get killed by the O-Line. Linebacker is a better position for you because you have to be faster to tackle RB and WR.

  5. You are undersized, but you may have a quick first step against bigger offensive linemen.  If those numbers are not inflated, you have strength and speed.  Do not give up the chance to be on the field.  You never know, the coach may rotate you at both spots.
