Now the water is going through the walls of the house and flooding the kitchen. It continues on its path to the living room and is coming up through the wood (pergo) floor. We do not have freeze issues since we live in the Tampa, FL area. How can we fix this? Obviously don't leave the spigot on...

  1. If you only get water in the house when the faucet is turned on, then most likely it's a frostproof fixture, they actually have a very long stem that shuts off the water flow inside the wall, thereby making them frostproof as long as you don't leave a hose or some appeture on the threads that will hold the water in the tube.   The fixture will likely need to be changed, either by you or by a plumber.   And, oh yes, don't leave the spigot on.
