Outside unit clicks while thermostat auxiliary...

I have a RUUD heat pump that the outside unit is making a clicking noise and the thermostat auxiliary light is flashing in unison with the clicking noise. Could not get it to do anything when the technician was there and he could not find anything wrong. It has started again. Does anyone know what is wrong?
