Question:

Outsourcing of Jobs?

As a college bound student, I sometimes worry that most of our American jobs will eventually be taken over by immigrants and people living in developing countries. I feel that this is going to increase competitions among the limited jobs available in the US. I wonder what American citizens and people of other nationalities think about this issue? To tell u the truth, I am a little upset.. (not at the people who are taking our jobs but corporations and government that allows this to happen)

  1. Everytime I call a customer service number and get sent over seas, it ticks me off.  There's nothing worse than needing help and not being able to understand the representative on the other line.  I paid for service in the US and that's what I want.  Nothing against the workers.  They need to feed their families too.  I'm angry at the companies who take my American money and then transfer all of the jobs to a foreign land.  Don't they realize that if the American economy sinks any deeper, they won't have very many customers.  Most Americans. won't be able to afford their services anylonger.

  2. do you really want to answer phones for a living? because thats what was outsourced, do you want to work in fields or a sweat houses because thats what illegals do

i though you were going to college? you should be smarter than that

  3. Regarding Mexican illegal immigrants, if you get rid of them, you are getting rid of the labor work force that helps keep the farms going. This is not made up either! we are already seeing some farms move to Mexico because they are losing, or have lost most of their workers because of the new immigration laws. They can't find US born citizens to do these jobs, so the better alternative is to move where the labor force is without immigration issues. We have salminilla in our tomatoes these days, can you imagine what else might be in you food if it starts coming in from other countries? it will be hard to monitor other countries practices.

U.S. farmers go where workers are: Mexico

"Farmers are renting land in Mexico," Feinstein said. "They don't want us to know that."

She predicted that more American farmers would move to Mexico for the ready work force and lower wages. Feinstein favored a measure in the failed immigration bill that would have created a new guest worker program for agriculture and a special legal status for illegal immigrant farm workers.

In the past, some Americans have planted south of the border to escape spiraling land prices and to ensure year-round deliveries of crops they can produce only seasonally in the United States. But in the past three years, Nassif and other growers said, labor uncertainties have become a major reason why more farmers have shifted to Mexico.

  4. 80% taken by overseas.

  5. Everyone in america is an immigrant....the only people who really belonged here were the red indians....but they were driven out of their land or killed. The law of nature is "survival of the fittest".....and that applies everywhere.
