Question:

Ovarian cyst pain... HELP?

I haven't been able to see a doctor yet but according to my symptoms I was told I have an ovarian cyst. I'm crying and scared and I am in pain--is there anything I can do besides heating pad/Advil? Advil doesn't seem to be helping and tomorrow I have to go to preseason for school sports for 9 days and I don't know what to do because I feel miserable! Any help would be very appreciated.

  1. before you diagnose yourself go to a doctor A&E or such  as the pain if on the right side could also be appendix

having had an overian cyst myself that bled I know it's painful but just having an ovarian cyst is not painful often women have them but it was only by having a scan they knew it was a bled into it the pain only lasted a couple of days

go to a doctor  and get checked     good luck

add on  it's unlikley to rupture  it may bleed into it's self  and that will cause pain ............your better going to A&E or and ER to have some one check you over sitting at home isn't the thing to do

  2. Hi hun im a nurse so listen and calm down. First of all the more you think about something, the more psycologically it will hurt, So lay back however is comfortable for you and relax. Secondly, you do not know for sure that is an ovarian cyst, you will only know until you have seen your doctor. There could be other harmless things which it could be :) which is normally the case. Thirdly, the cyst wont rupture hun! its a harmless fluid filled little sac and it just rests on your ovaries, like a little pearl necklace :) it can be easily sorted and nearly all of the time it is left by doctors. So take it easy, take some strong paracetomol, and lay down, keep your tummy area nice and warm. Anything else you can email me xx
