Lokomotiv can save their manager by winning the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against Spartak Moscow, says Sergei Ovchinnikov
Media reports suggest that Lokomotiv Moscow president,
Olga Smorodskaya, will sack Jose Couceiro, should he fail to guide the club to a UEFA Europa League spot this season.
If speculations are to be believed, the Loko are keen to sign acting Dynamo Moscow manager, Sergei Silkin. However, despite the weak links of Silkin joining the Loko, Smorodskaya is keen to get rid of the current manager after
a series of disappointing results.
Lokomotiv signed the Portuguese tactician last year after parting company with Yuri Krasnozhan. The Russian outfit sacked Krasnozhan after the 48-year-old manager was found guilty on account of his involvement in a match fixing
scandal.

However, Couceiro failed to meet the expectations during the third league round, as the Yellow-greens dropped in the standings.

The Parovozy failed to win their last match against the same opposition after conceding two goals against the Moscow-based club, the last time these two teams met in a league encounter.

The Railroaders are currently in 6th position in the standings and could avoid dropping down further, should they win the upcoming tie against the Myaso.
Spartak, on the other hand, are at the 3rd spot and could leapfrog CSKA Moscow, should they prevail at the Luzhniki stadium and the Armeytsy fail to beat Rubin Kazan at Tsentralnyi stadion on the final day of the campaign.
