Over Head cam?

I was browsing through here and I read something from a guy named Moe B (or something like that) He said in 1999 HD came out with the Twin Cam engine. He said it was a dual overhead cam engine that HD copied of Japan. If this is true, why did HD keep the tappet blocks, and push rod covers, Would the tappets and push rods do? Isn't the advantage of OHC engines the elimanation of lifters and pushrods? Or did HD keep those covers for cosmetic purposes? OR, is this just another basher that does't know what he's talking about?

  2. the only reason that j******f "rides" at all,is because his mother makes him wear a helmet at all times anyways.

look up the word "goof" in the dictionary, theres a picture of him.

  3. You actually believe anything that wing nut says? I've been reading his posts for a while now and i've yet to read anything he's said that didn't just make me shake my head. That boy is a total idiot.

  4. LOL cosmetic purposes?  you mean they just take up space and just look good?  I dont Harley ever did anything just to look good.  i think in comparison, the Harley is a real mechanical work of art, not just cosmetic like the japkrap out there now.

  5. I think you're referring to Joe B, who answers every Harley related question with some sort of incoherent, misspelled bash and rhetoric.  He rides a Suzuki M50, or so he says, and thinks the world revolves around Japanese bikes.

The Twin Cam 88 has the cams located behind the cam cover, on the lower right side of the engine.  You are absolutely correct and he's just another basher that doesn't know what he's talking about.

  6. Not true. The twin cam engine is not an overhead cam engine.
