  1. practice, or ask one of your school gym coaches, and I'm sure they'll be able to help you

  2. Work on your toss.  You can't serve well without a good toss.

  3. Over hand I think is pretty cool to know.  I hardly use it though to tell you the truth. I'm a under hander. But yup, practice practice is the only way to go to improve.

  4. Practice makes perfect. Be sure to get the ball in front of ur opposite shoulder that u r serving with. LIke if ur a righty, then line up the ball in front of ur left shoulder.. U no. HAve a good high toss, and hit at the right moment. use the strongest part of ur hand to hit the ball with. THe palm. It always works for me. Try it!

  5. Well, I used to have the same problem. I know you probably hear this alot (I know I did) but, u need to PRACTICE! And, if your just not getting it over, maybe you need to gain a little muscle. Do push-ups. Well, BeSt oF LuCk!

  6. garenteed like 90% of the time when you mess up its your toss. go somewhere where you can just toss the ball. have your left foot forward and when you toss it, put a piece of paper in front of your right foot. ***im dyslexic and get my right and left messed up so dont quote me on that** but put a paper in front of the foot you step with. put your hitting hand in the air as high as you can. toss the ball so it goes to where your finger tips are and let it drop and hit the paper. do it like 100000000000 times. also pretend there is paint on all your finger tips. dont hit the ball where the paint would be, only on the palm of your hand.

  7. practice practice practice

It took me a few years to get ti right in middle school/high school, but once I did, I was a powerhouse. I still am over 10 years later.

Also, do push ups to strengthen your triceps, and try flies and bench press to strengthen your shoulders.

  8. Take your time. That seems to be my biggest problem. I get in a rush and end up throwing a bad toss and don't place my hand where it needs to be and it just plops to the ground. If you don't think you have a good toss try tossing it a few times and have it drop right in front of your right foot, that's a good toss. You can use the bow and arrow technique to hit the ball. Arch your arm back, toss the ball, and reach high up to the ball's peak and snap your hand to serve it. To aim, face the foot you step with towards your target and your upper body, face that slightly towards to target too. I can't really think of much more than just keep trying and practicing and your muscle memory for good serves will get better hopefully.

  9. If you want to develop power, practice hitting the ball hard and high with good force behind the fingertips.  This will produce top spin allowing you to hit the ball harder without it balooning long.  I know some guys that serve in this manner so hard that the return bump will reach the ceiling of a gym.

  10. i play volleyball and my overhand serve is really powerful all you have to do is practice and workout your arms to build strength in them so you can hit the ball harder. and also the way you toss the ball really counts on serving the ball try to throw it right in front of the arm you hit with, if you throw it crooked you will mess up

  11. you can always practice in your mirror, it sounds really stupid but if you can see what you are doing often you can fix it. Also when you hit the volley ball hit it with a open hand, you have much more control over it.

  12. Practicing is the only way to perfect something, and even still, it'll never be perfect!! So just try your best and in time, you'll get better.

  13. Just keep practicing, ok, i think u sould ask my brother he is a really powerful overhand server. But I'm an under hand server, I'm starting to over hand serve to

  14. Ok, well, i got it. Yes, as i was saying, coaches look at it as a very important thing. You do need to know how to over hand serve, because here, we are not allowed to serve under hand because to the other team, it's just an easy pass. When you serve over hand, concentrate...practice throwing it straight up in the air and hitting it... our coach made us take a ball stand about 8 feet away from a wall and toss the ball and hit it as aggresive as you can..when you hit the ball, where your hitting hand stops thats where the ball is supposed to land after it bounces back if you know what i mean. yea, just give it your best shot to serve over hand and practice... do some weight lifting to get your arm to be stronger. just keep practicing, you just don't know that you can do it...Good luck.

    i hope this helped
