Over seas scams?

have been chatting to a gorgeous girl from Ghana.

she wants me to help her get some diomands she has from there to here in Australia, has anyone heard of this scam before

Yes there are SEVERAL diamond scams out there.  Also if you really think about it, why would someone need help if this was a legal transaction.  If she (assuming she is using her real info) wants you to help move diamonds, assume they are stolen or they don't exist.

Stop communicating with this fraud and go under your Yahoo home page and search "transporting diamonds scams"  You will see a lot of info to make your final decision.

No doubt about it.  It is a scam.

Did you know that legitmate diamond merchants routinely ship diamonds my ordinairy mail?  Now, I don't know about the legalities of shipping diamonds from Ghana, but, why would this "girl" trust valuable diamonds in the hands of someone she has never met, in person?  Somewhere, along, in this scheme, you will be asked to put up some kind of "good faith" money, or, be asked to supply a bank account number, or, asked to deposit a check in the bank so that you can "take a percentage for yourself."  These and other signs, will be the absolute "red flags" that this is a scam.

You really don't know if this girl is REALLY a girl.  She is VERY likely just some guy "phishing" for a sucker.

There is an old poker axiom that states, "If you look around and can't spot the sucker, the sucker is YOU."
