  1. I know for a fact that the countries who hold the olympics don't want their teams to dissappoint them... and of course their going to be rounting for their team as much as possible. The olympics is all about competing and showing what your country is made of, its sort of fun seeing the other countries out do each other actually.

I'm not gonna lie, china's opening ceremony was fierce! :-)

All those fireworks and people moving around put out a great show. China is known for making a good performance and i'm not mad at them for showing off lol.

  2. i kinda agree....it seems to be a waste of time and money.  Oh...im talking about the olympics in general...isnt that what you meant?

  3. I seriously don't think any other country will ever be able to top China.  So maybe we will see something simpler in London.

  4. The opening ceremony is watched by billions of people around the world and is a chance for the host country to really show off - that said I think the opening ceremony in London will be a lot less grand than that of China (or even Sydney or Athens to compare with recent games).  The reason for this is that Britain has less to prove with their opening ceremony and is a lot tighter with the cash!

  5. yes

  6. I agree. Personally think the IOC should put a cap on the amount that can be spent on the opening and closing ceremonies so that smaller countries don't feel the need to go bankrupt to bet the previous ceremonies.
