Over the counter sperm analysis?

has anyone used the walgreens or other over the counter sperm analysis kit? If so was it accurate?

  1. HOnestly the only thing they test for is to make sure the man has at least the minimum of 20mil/ml of sperm.  It doesnt test for morphology or motility, which are key to getting pregnant.  If you want to test at home, buy a kids microscope for around $25 at Toys R US, Target, etc that has magnification for 100x and 400x.  Then get a "sample" from your partner.  Take one drop and set it on a slide, put on a slide cover and wait about 15-30 min for it to liquify.. Then view it at 100x.  It should look like pepper flakes.  Then switch to 400x and you should see the actual sperm.  To know a count, take the number you see and divide it by 2.  That is the millions of sperm/ml.  (20 mil/ml is the end of normal range for sperm counts).  HTH!
