Overactive imagination?

I'm 13 and its getting kind of weird; i just can never get bored 'cause when i'm sitting, say in the back of a car i am somewhere else, somewhere i want to be and i feel as if i'm physically there. I practically dream up another life for me. And when i go to sleep i dream without fail really long dreams (i typed up a couple and they were both over 2 pages) and i can't wake up by sound i either get up by myself or i'm kicked by someone- even then it takes alot to pull me out of my dream. I also find it hard to concentrate 'cause i start 'floating away' :P (i crashed a golf buggy yesterday) Is this weird?

  1. Sounds good! write a book! it will likely hinder as you get older.

  2. you are just daydreaming. enjoy it while it lasts. you will outgrow it.

  3. There's nothing weird about it. It's your strength; use it! You're already practicing a time-honored writing exercise, which is recording your dreams after you wake up. Have you explored any form of creative arts? You might be well suited for it.

The only time you should worry about an over-active imagination is if it interferes with daily life (i.e., crashing a golf buggy). As long as you keep a firm foot in reality, daydream away!

  4. hah thats soo cool, ive grown out of it almost, im on the brink of losing my creativity. its your imaginationa nd creativity that help define you i say and to add atleast you can get to sleep, for some reason my eyes do not close and i end up staying up to the early hours of the morning.

  5. An overactive imagination is a sure sign of creativity.  Try writing as suggested earlier.  Scrapbooking may also be a good thing.  Draw pictures and tell the story of your dreams.  It may be good material later in life to write real stories that you can publish.  (you could even look into publishing now if you want.)
