I have a existing video processor in my current set up that I am considering replacing, but I can find no information on frame rate comparison between HDMI and Component any thoughts?

  1. HDMI is considered slightly better by most manufacturers.  I have also witnessed this firsthand.  It is probably because HDMI keeps everything in its original digital format whereas component is an analog connection.

    But the difference isn't great.

  2. Most manufactures will not tell you about frame rate, it will make the difference.

    HD signals range the following

    720p 60p or 30p frames

    1080i at 60i

    1080p at 24p or 30p

based on you previous questions the projector you have will accept any resolution. And given the processor you have I would stick to it vs. buying one that has HDCP and HDMI inputs. Your processor will interpolate the signal and make the progressive display output just as it already does, better than most players or sources are capable of. I would wager with the proper settings you would be hard pressed to see the difference between 1080p 30p vs. 1080i 60i.

Given that you decided agains Blu-ray you should just wait it out for somethign better, since it seems you are already happy.
