Question:

Overclocking Problem !!!!!!!1?

I tried to overclock my computer, I reboot, nothing appears on the screen. Nothing at all, there is no signal input. All the connections are fine, and the monitor is working just fine.

Im guessing that I damaged either the CPU or the motherboard.

What to do?

  1. You increase the FSB or the multiplier too much or you didn't increase the voltage.Open the case and remove the system battery.Next to the battery is the clear cmos jumper.Look at your manual to see what position is the clear.(usually from pin 1-2 you go to 2-3 and back)

    You haven't done any damage

  2. can you boot into bios, if so, reset to normal

  3. Sounds like you have to reset the BIOS. The easiest way to do that is to open up your case and take out the cmos battery for a minute then reinstall it. If you are familiar with the motherboard you can find the CMOS Jumper and take the jumper and put it in the reset spot for a minute then put it back. Reboot access the bios and fix the time and make sure it reads your CPU correctly. Set to defaults in BIOS. The machine froze up due to your settings. I recommend only messing with the CPU multiplier.
