  1. I would not mess with it.

You need to know if your motherboard supports it, and whether or not your CPU is "over-clockable" (this just means whether or not the CPU:FSB ratio is unlocked, or varying).

If you want to overclock, it is recommended you do not stick with the stock heatsink (the one that came with the CPU), as faster-than-normal speeds will increase heat, and this increased amount of heat will not necessarily be taken away by the stock cooler. Look up your motherboard's model on google and check out forums. Better yet, google "overclocking forums" and ask your question there. They'll be able to help you more.

However, I would not bother overclocking a Pentium dual core - the cache memory isn't up to scratch with the other Core2Duos, and as such will still preform less-than-stellar when compared to a Core2Duo. I suggest upgrading (if possible). Ask your father's friend about upgrading the processor.. good luck

  2. Go into your bios and bump your cpu FSB up. Try about 5% at first. First thing you need to do before you attempt overclocking is to find out where the J5 jumper on your motherboard is. Will be tiny with 3 pins and a little jumper on the 1-2 pins. When your overclock fails you would unplug the power cord to PSU or turn the rocker switch on PSU to off to get the power off the motherboard(board still has power on it even when the computer is turned off) then move the jumper from the 1-2 pins to the 2-3 pins for about 15 seconds then back to the 1-2 pins. This resets the bios to default. Even overclocking boards that are supposed to automatically reset the bios on a failed clock dont always do so. Wouldn't get too greedy if youre running stock cooling. Also know where your memory straps are. A board will sometimes clock your ram down when you up the cpu to a certain point. That defeats the higher speed of the cpu. You want to run the cpu as fast as you can before the board clocks your ram down. Hopefully, your board isn't an Intel and you can overclock with it. If the clock settings are greyed out in bios it wont overclock even with overclocking software that works thru Windows because it will only work on boards you can clock in the bios.

May want to google "overclocking the E(7300 or 8200--whichever one you have)" --will usually be articles on that. Even if the article is using a different motherboard the configurations of the cpu during the overclock is what you want to look at. Just don't bump the voltage up if youre new to overclocking. Too high a vcore is what fries a cpu more than anything. I've overclocked everything for a long time and have never fried anything but I've never been dumb about what voltages I used.

  3. sorry but i have to clarify for you. there is no such processor as an intel pentium core 2 duo. It is either a pentium dual core or a core 2 duo

  4. I wont tell you how, as it is to easy to damage your PC if you don't know what you are doing.

However if you are going to do it anyway then i suggest you find a good reputable blog or forum and ask some people for advice.

Don't settle for 1 piece of advice consult as many as you can. The old saying 2 heads are better than 1, can only reduce the chance of a mishap.

BE AWARE THIS MAY COST YOU YOUR PROCESSOR OR WORSE.

  5. I'm warning u bro.Don't even think about it

  6. you can use easy tune 5. You can even overclock you CPU fan to get it rn cooler when overclocked. Dual cores get very hot when overclocked just like Pentium D the first Dual Core that has a very high clock speed and alot of report was on overheat. So I suggest you not to go too far. Or go to BIOS under performance
