Question:

Overcome my amusement park fear

Whenever I go to amusement parks I usually start feeling scared and worried because of what goes on and how things happen sometimes. I'm going to Kentucky Kingdom with my friend, mom and sister and I just constantly worry about everybody I'm with.I want to have fun and just forget about bad things like that. So what can I do to overcome my fear and just have fun? I love roller coasters and I enjoy them but whenever I'm not with my dad on them I get so nervous. Is there anything I can do to just get this constant worry off of my mind and have fun? Somebody help me!

  1. I have the same problem.

    Unless you face your fear,

there's no way to get over it.

  2. I'm really sorry about your fear, but the best way is to just to just get on the ride.  Contrary to what people/movies say... roller coasters and other rides are supposed to checked EVERY DAY, so no worries.

  3. What are you specifically afraid of?  The rides? Something going wrong with the ride? What "bad things" are you talking about?

  5. We have a Chuck E. Cheese with a roller coaster simulator. Try that.

  6. Tell yourself over and over again that it is just a machine and that there are safety precations on it and that it is okay.

  7. Calm down, Close your eyes, Scream on the top of your lungs.

Helped me face my fear. Now I don't want to go with parents.

    Boringgg.

  8. I used to have the same fear as a child. Sometimes even now at the age of 29 I still get scared. I guess the best remedy is just "face the fear and do it anyway" or you could try visualizing your self safely getting on and off the ride.  Remember to take big deep breaths! and if you really think your going to have a panic attack just stay off the ride! Good luck!

  9. hahahahaha what?

    calm down

  10. just get on the ride.

you'll probably get terrified on the way up...

but i promise you'll have fun.

  11. just don't worry about it

know that all the rides are safe, they test it a million times and its very rare that accidents happen, if they even do

i have the same problem, except i worry about myself lmfao

  12. Can't worry about it and you have more change of getting hurt in a car then you do there.

Sometimes it just god's will- if he call your number he needs you, it doesn't matter where you are or what your doing.

  13. Face your fear.

    Thats the only way.

  14. this might sound like or joke or that i'm poking fun at you but i'm not...

If you are so insecure about something like this which is ok, you cant control what others do. But to make yourself feel safe you could always carry around a can of mace for self defense and maybe a whistle. You might just feel that much safer

  15. RELAX, only stupid people get hurt at theme parks. Just don't climb any fences or unbuckle yourself on the roller coaster. It's all a matter of common sense. If your family and friend have any of it, they won't be trying to jump off of the ferris wheel any time soon.

PS: To everybody above me, SHE IS NOT AFRAID OF ROLLER COASTERS
