Overdoes owner says he could perform better than 2008 Prix de l’Abbaye - Horse Racing news
According to the part owner of the Hungarian sprint champion racehorse Overdose Mikoczy, he can give a better performance than he did in the 2008 edition of the Prix de l’Abbaye.
The Hungarian sensation was able to hold off the field and won the race. He thus managed to deeply impress his fans and champions alike.
It has been reported that the racehorse will be making his first appearance in a racing event that will be taking place in Britain. He has so far been unable to do so since he got injured and could not take part in any racing event in the country.
The race that he will be a part of on Saturday is the Temple Stakes. This Group 2 meeting will be held at the Haydock racecourse, and it has been revealed that Overdose is being backed at odds of 5-2 for this event.
The racehorse indeed has a very impressive racing career. He started 16 races out which he was only unfortunate to lose one. The Group 2 race took place in Germany in the last racing season. His connections then decided that the racehorse should take part
in the racing events that take place in his native country, as he was able to claim all the starts that were held there.
Overdose is not very celebrated in Britain. The reason being that the racehorse was never really given a chance to prove his worth and potential in the country. His talent is assessed by sports analysts in Britain by his performance in the Abbaye meeting.
Nonetheless, he is being quoted as a 7-1 favourite for the upcoming King’s Stand Stakes that will be a feature of the Royal Ascot.
Talking to the correspondents, the part owner of Overdose, Mikoczy was reported as saying, “We cannot be sure he is as good as he was when he won the Prix de l’Abbaye in 2008, but who knows, he may even be better.”
