Overdraft question regarding bank charges?

i recently sent a letter asking my bank to refund my £2000 bank charges to my account i didnt get a satisfactory response so i have given them a further 7 working days to refund the money if not i will then take court action. i hvent heard anything as next monday will be deadline. at the moment i have exceeded my overdraft and cant withdraw any money or purchase anything but today i tried topping up my phone wth £20 and it was accepted plus i bought somehtin on line and was accepted. if i had done this before it would automatically be rejected. what does this mean is there money waiting to be transferred??/

What are these bank charges from?  Insufficient funds? It will probably be a cold day in h**l before they will refund those.

Just because they allowed charges to go through doesn't mean that you have money in there.  I would stop spending because they may just be hitting you with more fees.

If you feel that you are in the right I would definitely contact a lawyer and find out what your rights are

i hope its good news for you, its so easy to go overdrawn now, my daughter in law went £3 overdrawn and a week later went 60p overdrawn, and was sent 2 bank charges of £28 each, its ridiculous

You allowed your bank to mount up banck charges of £2,000.

Why? and why didn't you act sooner.

I do my nut at the bank for even charging me £1 in charges that result in bank charges like the other day. I don't stand for a penny more than I have to, in my case they charged me 66p in intrest charges despit me leaving £1 of my overdraft and they convieniently rounded it off to my OD limit of £150 and then charged me £35 in charges, I had a fit about it, even the people in the queue took a step back. I got my charges refunded that day.

I'M going to guess that the bank you use is either NatWest, Barclays or HSBC as I have had accounts with them in the past and the worst offender is NatWest who tried to take me for a prat.

The banks perogative to allow you to spend money from your account, so be careful as they can charge you intrest for not having enough "Cleared" funds.

Why would they return money if you were overdrafted.
