My leopard gecko is 6 inches from head to tail, and is 3 months old, which is what I figure is the best time to fatten him up. He gets 6 small crickets a day about this long ---- and 5 small mealworms every day. Am I over feeding him?

  1. if you overfeed your leopard gecko it can get fat and have health problems in the past

  2. You could but i dont know exactly. What i would do is place a very small plate or small bowl and fill it with some mealworms in it...about, 15 or so. This way he will eat some of them and then stop eating them when he doesnt want anymore. Using this way can help show you how much he likes to eat. I always keep a dish of 1 inch mealworms in with my leos and they eat when they're full i guess and can eat it as they please, but they never overfeed using this method.

  3. normally in the wild the gecko would eat every thing he can right away  whish means the bowl would be over feeding.

right now you are feeding him to many meal worms you should feed him 5 meal worms a week not a day.

soon you will need t start feeding him 6 crickets every other day(when he is 6 to 9 monthes old maybe.)the length of each cricket should be the width of his head.  I could be wrong though but a a healthy gecko has a fat tail.

  4. just set them down in the tank lets them run around let him eat
