So I'm doing a report on overgrazing and I was wondering if there is a way to buy meat products that are responsiblely farmed (not overgrazed) I have no idea because I'm a vegetarian...

Also, any interesting facts that you know of?

--Thanks!

  1. Hi

I read a interesting report about a large area o China in which grass lands are completely wipe out by a small mammal like a gout used to produce Kashmir and the report even mention huge dust clouds the reach is far is North America so you can imagine the dimension of the problem!!!

  2. what country?

yes there are loads of animals not kept overgrazed.. but some of them are NOT responsible to the animals wellbeing..

FACTORY FARM animals - are ones kept in feed lots.. they dont over graze because the poor things dont even get to graze in the first place..

over grazing often occurs from people keeping too many animals on too little land or in times of drought when the plants cannot recover..

Factory Farm animals are not environmentally friendly - pumped with hormones they stand in their own p**p and people have to farm land to raise food for them anyhow.. thus use more gasoline, chemicals etc...

HUNTED ANIMALS - are very environmentally friendly - AND they had good lives - so is better for cruelty reasons too...

  3. cows will overgraze if they are left to stay in one field and not rotated; they will eat the roots and all.

Sheep on the other hand will only eat the blade of the grass, not the root, enabling the grass to grow back.

  4. zero grazing, but it is not really all that healthy for the animal

    Like they do in Holland

the cow never leaves the barn or sees the meadow

all the grass is cut and brought to the cow .

as well as other kinds of food .such as germinated corn-

  5. I am a vegetrain too but 'organic' meats come from animals that usually are not over grazing. The farms these cattle are found on have a holistic approach to all of it... similar to free range chicken and stuff like that.

  6. Public grazing lands exist west of the rocky mountains . East ward it is private land .
