I've tried a new technique with the overhand serve, but every time I perform it, my wrist aches terribly. Is this supposed to happen?

  1. u might be hitting it too high on ur hand causing ur wrist to bend backwards. For me, i try to hit it lower palm, and hit it with a firm hand, unless ur going to the wrist snap to get really good serves but don't over do it.

  2. ask your coach she will know better then anyone else, cause we don't know the technique you are using.

  3. Try taping your wrist, it adds a lot of support.

  4. Your wrist should not be in so much pain. you must be bending your hand back to far and the weight of the ball is probably pushing down more and worsening the problem.

Keep your hand (not your fingers) stiff so that you wont hurt your wrist

  5. It really depends on what the technique is. Your wrist shouldn't hurt, but it might if you haven't played in a while, and yes, taping it will help. However, if you think that you are hurting yourself, go to your coach or a physical therapist.
