  1. Work on your strength.  Each day, "serve" the ball against a wall.  Do this for a while, but make sure not to overdo it and hurt yourself.  Also, make sure the ball isn't tossed too far in front of you.  I was always told that if you toss the ball, but DIDN'T hit it, it should come down and land right in front of your feet.  For some people, overhand serving is very difficult, but for others it comes naturally.  Also, don't keep your elbow and arm too stiff.  It should feel like you're ***** slapping the ball alittle bit :)

If nothing else, keep practicing both, so you can show your coach that serving underhand isn't a crime.  The point is to get the ball over the net- if you need to do it underhand, so be it.

    Good luck!

  2. first find a spot that u can serve it over the net and then u can serve in that same spot and then u will have to serve in the spot at the same spot

  3. I use this tricks and drills when I first learned volleyball, because to be the team must can do 2 type of serve.

Drills, swing arm with and without ball

    Tips & tricks

    1. close your palm, it's legal. i usually used it when my stamina is very low.

    2. If your power very low. Think the ball is someone who very cruel to you.. or you hates this man. like your math teacher who gave your math 20. Imajine like that and then give your power and emotion to the ball..

    It's really help!!

  4. fast arm speed, watch the ball as you hit it, good toss.

thats just a few but I hope it helps (:

  5. When I first started to overhand serve 3 years ago, I couldn't get it to the net either, so my coach told me to kind of press my fingers into the top of my hand, kind of like a fist but spread out. Then hit the ball up and out kind of with the bottom meatier part of you hand, kind of like the curve from your thumb. Also, serving the ball to the wall works and will help build up your strength and any kind of arm work out. I always start working out and pumping some weights on my arms in the summer and during volleyball season cause it helps a lot.

  6. Make sure you have a nice spread out firm hand when you contact the ball. Also i find that the toss can be everything so make sure you have a nice high toss right in front of you. My trick is to toss it high and reach to contact it really high, it usually helps me to get it over. Also make sure your really pulling your arm back and whipping it to get the most power

  7. I couldn't overhand serve until this year.

bend your fingers until they touch where your fingers connect to

          the hand.

throw the ball 18 inches above your head, with the opposite arm of

          your serving arm.

step out with the foot that is the same side of your serving arm.

keep your arm straight and stiff.

lean into the ball when you serve for more power.

hit the ball when it is infront of your serving arm, which is straight

          up.

  8. Toss with the opposite hand you're gonna serve it with...toss it kind of high, but not TOO high..have your left foot a bit in front of your right(if you're right handed) and when you go to hit the ball drag your left foot to where your right foot is...this will give you power and by throwing your body forward the ball will go farther..

also another good thing to try is when you go to hit the ball

LEAN BACK with your body and arm you're gonna hit with so when you hit the ball alllll the power is put into it.

    hope this helps?
