Overheating Fourwinns 23.8 1998?

I just installed a rebuilt engine, raisers, manifodls ,raw water pump and still overheats. It's getting me very frustrated. No mechanic seems to figure it out. I need HELP, PLEASE

  1. Be leave it or not this may be a gasket problem, between the exhaust manifold(s) and the risers.  If possible look at the old gaskets and or the "spacer plates" and note these can be put in backwards.  Also check to see if you are using the engine circulating pump from the "old" block or a`New' automotive pump.  Check the service manual and check the flow diagram.


  2. If you swapped out your old hoses onto the new engine be sure and check for pieces of the old impellar or anything clogging it up. You want to make sure you have sufficent water going through then go from there on your diagnosing.
