Overheating- Sony VAIO T8100 2.1GHz Laptop (VGNCR520DL)?

Is cooling fan of Sony CR 520 laptop effective compared to other brands (toshiba)? My previous laptop was extremely hot when using it so I am really sensitive about overheating.

walmart sells laptop coolers, my son burnt his laptop hard drive gaming, due that I use "hdd health" and google mobilmeter great utility for system heat, also tells you your battery used info and compares it to the factory info to tell you the wear level of your batteries, great if buying new batteries to check if they are really new, or used. from cnet www.download.com and have a targus 4 port usb cooling fan platform that sits under the laptop.

get a laptop stand --it will help air flow at the bottom and prevent overheating.
