Overpopuation is the real cause of high prices? The real threat to society?

I finally saw an article in a major paper, the Wall Street Journal, that overpopulation is the real cause of rising fuel prices, wars, deteriorating environments, etc

The real global threat is overpopulation! Yet it's NEVER discussed.

  1. Yeah, because killing people is not a popular idea. And since having children is a "basic human right" there is no way to control it. You can read the works of Thomas Malthus if you are interested in this topic. He basically covered it all.


  2. World's population is soaring at an incredible rate. There is not enough resources to support such growth.

  3. it has been discussed plenty. remember the whole global warming thing? rising fuel prices is for us at least is being affected by the spike in demand in a few gigantic countries that in the past have had such little demand for oil based fuels and the fact that our consumption is not being eased nor are we allowing ourselves to alleviate our dependency on foreign oil. as for wars, i don't really know how population is causeing that...
