Overrated players in the NBA

Question

Tell me who you think is overrated in this league, and list them by rank. For me, I'll just throw out a few names (in no specific order) to start off.

There's Bynum, whose impact has been stressed by Lakers fans. Supposedly, he's the guy that'll lead them to a championship next season.

There's also Dirk, whose won an MVP but keeps getting upsetted by supposedly inferior teams.

Note: I had better not hear LeBron or Kobe's name come up unless you really show their worthlessness. Cut out the c**p. And we can make Shaq, McGrady, Nash, and Yao on that list too.

billups, he's disappeared in the conference finals every year and is overrated as a clutch player because he had one good playoffs a few years ago.

nash, since he doesn't play defense and just happens to fit in well with the suns' style of play, but before that he was barely even an all star.

lebrick is overrated.. media hypes him when he scores 50 points.. u see other guys media dont hype..

and they say lebrick carried the cavs to the finals.. if they didnt have daniel gibson lebrick wouldve never been in the fials

Honestly, one guy I think that is majorly overrated is Lamar Odom.  I mean, he's a good finisher, but he can play under pressure, and he's hard to fit into a team.  He's like a 3 that can't shoot but can rebound, or he's like a 4 that can't guard the post and is marginally better at slashing and finishing in traffic.  Either way, it's hard to fit him into a team, and you don't want to build a team around him because he crumples under pressure.  Carmelo Anthony, while an amazing offensive threat, doesn't play defense, and that is what screws teams over.  He's a major liability, and despite his scoring proficiency, doesn't really do much other than shoot in high volumes and score a lot.  If I gave like Brent Barry the number of shots Melo got, I think he'd score a lot too.  Not to say that Melo doesn't have something going for him on the offensive end of the floor, but I think he's overrated because he can't play defense.  To be honest, to me he is the weakest link in Team USA.

ok, youre right about dirk (he sucks) but have you seen andrew bynum play? i think hes 34 times better then shaq, with who they won 3 championships with.

1.iverson-melo duo, when they first were put together. Everyone was like. "There gonna win a championship." two 25+ scores just cant co exist, and they were swept by the lakers in the first round.

2. youre right about mcGrady hes not as great as everyone thinks he is.

3.youre also right about yao.

I agree LeBron in Kobe r da best in da league so they not really overated. but i would say Dirk. Hes so SOFT. and u tell me da guy is 7-foot but dont wanna post just stand out there shootin a three. and then da guy gets an mvp and his team gets best record in da nba bust loses 2 da warriorsno offense but they were an 8TH SEED).......After Dirk would be Gasol. they soft

Andrew Bynum - had a good half season

Pau Gasol - if he wasn't takk then he wouldn't be able to be in the NBA

Stephon Marbury - used to be good but now isn't worth the money he gets

Bynum, Gasoft, Odom are all overrated.  Bynum is not a bad player but he is not the next Shaq.  He only score 13 points a game.  Until he can get to 20/10 then I don't get what's all the fuss about him.

Gasoft is too soft.  He is a great flopper and that's about it.  Odom have talent but doesn't know how to use them.

Bynum is over-rated?

He'll bring them to the championship because their team is already in the finals. If they can make it to the finals without their starting center, then with their starting center they have a better shot at the championship...

Nobody is over-rating Bynum, they just point out that with him they might make it to the championship.

Who do I think is overrated? Probably KG...I've loved him since the beginning but some people think he's one of the best PF's to play the game...

Another name to throw out is D-wade...He has a lot of skills and he can drive the lane well for a point guard...some people put him over Iverson and Kidd though, two amazing players with better stats.
