Oversea's Travel Question. Please help.?

Is there any form needed from the mother. For the father to bring our child back to the U.S.??? Our child is a U.S. citizen but born in another country. Our child also has Birth Abroad Certificate and U.S. Passport. Any information would be helpful.

Whenever I travel abroad with my son without his father I'd make a simple authorization letter that stated my detailed flight itenerary (dates of travelling, flights detailed, duration of travel, etc) and have my husband sign infront of a public notary just as a proof that I'm legally able to travel without him with his full consent.

You can google the sample of this letter. It comes in handy if they ask for it. So far I've never been ask for one but I'm happy to know that just in case any question arises I have that letter at hand.
